The Phase of Rejection by Pastor Charles O. Famodimu

Rejection is one of the keys God use in training us to spiritual maturity. The rejected stone usually ends up as the chief cornerstone (Mark12:10). To handle rejection properly we need to understand why God use it to train us.
The rejection of today is a trial; God uses it to check the level of patience in us. Whether you react or respond to it determines the level of your maturity.
The rejection of today shows you that you are not yet up to standard and that you still need to work more on yourself. It also tells you to learn more, improve at what you are doing, to produce better results. For you to experience a lifting you must go through a stage of rejection. It was after the Lord Jesus was rejected and crucified that He became exulted and glorified.
Rejection is inevitable; Jesus went through series of rejection, shame and suffering. He was harshly spoken to and condemned even by his own brothers.
When you are on the journey of eternity rejection further emphasizes the truth that the Christian race is an individual race. It is a prerequisite for the manifestation of glory. It’s like a catapult; the farther it goes depends on the extent to which it was pulled back. Hence; rejection pulls you back to help you clear your path, to single you out for your glory to speak.
Rejection is used to toughen you so that you can face any circumstance that comes your way in the future. Once you are still accepted by all it means you have not started. Moses didn’t find it funny addressing his own people; they lay upon him all sorts of allegations and even accused him of misleading them. The phase of rejection is very important to our spirituality.
The period of rejection is a time to build and equip oneself. The rejection of Jephthah in Judges 11:1-10, gave him room to go and build himself to relevance; it was that relevance in the matters of war that spoke for him when time came. Build yourself to overcome the phase of rejection else one may keep repeating the class as in the book of Deuteronomy 2:3.
The phase of rejection is meant to drive you closer to God, to develop and deepen your relationship with him (Isaiah 57:15). At such times the devil is also close to you, who you answer to is a matter of your work and choice. 1 Samuel 30:6:
And David was greatly distressed; for the men spake of stoning him, because the soul of the people was grieved, every man for his sons and daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.
